Aspen Ladd
Aspen Ladd was 14 when she began training in combat sports. Along with BJJ, she also trained in boxing, wrestling and kickboxing. When she was 18, Ladd made her debut as an amateur at WCFC. Ladd gained momentum from this victory and went on a 3-fight victory streak in Ultimate Reno Combat finishing her opponents inside the first round of all fights. Ladd went back to WCFC and defeated Leslie Rodriguez through a unanimous decision. Aspen won against Silvia Babaeghian, Maddy Simmons and Cynthia Calvillo before facing Cynthia Calvillo in WCFC 9 Cynthia beat Aspen with a majority vote. It left a blemish on the record of Ladd's amateur. Ladd bounced back from her defeat to beat Roma Pawelek, taking her record to eight-1. Aspen was a professional when she entered the ranks in the year 2015. Aspen signed with Invicta FC and made her debut. InvictaFC 11 was her very first professional bout. She dominated Ana Carolina Vidal, securing an 1st round TKO. The next time she fought, she won with Amanda Cooper via second-round armbar submission, and then moved up to Bantamweight for her next fight at Invicta FC 16. Aspen's impressive wrestling skills took down McGill in the first round, and she managed to finish her third round by TKO (elbows and strikes). Aspen was then able to fight Jessica Hoy for Invicta FC18 in a catchweight that was 138.1lb. Ladd was not in a position to make it, but Aspen was victorious and defeated Hoy via TKO. Invicta FC 21, she was victorious in her last fight for the promotion via a unanimous vote. Aspen Ladd was the first UFC fighter to make her debut. She took on Linalansberg in UFC Fight Night 118. She outclassed Lina by using her ground and pound techniques which resulted in the TKO 2nd round win. She maintained her dominance and picked up an even bigger victory against Tonya Avinger in UFC 229 with her next bout. Ladd took over Evinger's fight following the first round. She also received the reward for her performance on the night. Invicta FC fighter Sijara Eugenes, in a UFC Fight Night dos anjos-lee fight with Eubanks of Sijara, was the first fight she's had in a major role. Both fighters put up a back-and-forth encounter that ended with Ladd triumphing via a unanimous decision and each fighter received an award known as the Fight of the Night bonus. Ladd's first loss came in her next fight against Germaine de Randamie in Ladd's first UFC main event fight. Randamie finished Ladd within 16 seconds of the fight which ended the streak of winning. Yana Knitskaya, in the UFC 7 ESPN 7's third round, was defeated by Randamie. In a last-minute substitute to her UFC fight, she took on Norma Dumont during UFC Fight Night 195. She lost by unanimous decision.
